Dimitar Taskov, MD

Born 1960 in the town of Targovishte in a family of eye doctors. He specializes ophthalmology in Medical Academy Sofia 1987-1990. As head of the Ophthalmology Ward in Targovishte, he works many years in the field of intraocular surgery. Also completed the International Informatization Academy - "Health Management" and "Pedagogical competence".

In 1996, in Targovishte, he founds Eye Center "Dr Taskov", after the name of his father, which in 2008 becomes Specialized Eye Hospital "Dr Taskov".

In 2004 establishes Specialized Eye Hospital "Luxor" in Plovdiv. In 2021 Eye Hospital "Luxor" moves into a brand new facility to offer more comfort to its patients as well as to respond to the ever growing needs for better treatment.

Dr Taskov is a leading ophthalmologist, expert in the modern eye microsurgery, with great personal contribution for the introduction of new operative methods, such as small-Incision cataract surgery and:

Phacoemulsification – removal of cataract (clouding of the lens) with ultrasound
Phacoemulsification – removal of cataract (clouding of the lens) with ultrasound
Implantation of the first multifocal lens in Bulgaria, with which the patients can see at close and far distances without glasses
Micro invasive glaucoma surgeon with implantations of various tubes and stents
The first surgery in Bulgaria using the phaco-system Centurion, only a month after its European premier
Numerous participations in international congresses and trainings for ophthalmologists
